Amelia's Rainbow Birthday Party!

Amelia has been talking about a "Rainbow Birthday Cake All Mixed Together" since her last birthday.  We've never quite figured out what it meant that it was all mixed together, but we took the rainbow part and ran with it.  She got her rainbow cake and lots of other rainbow inspired decor to accompany it!

Mimi and Papa came up to celebrate Amelia's 4th Birthday.  It was such a treat - we could not believe that it had been since the holidays that we last saw them!  too long!  Ellie and Papa let us host the party at their place - complete with a face painter and balloon maker!  Another rainy day birthday party, but we planned for it, and we think it was a success! thanks to aunt lisa for making the rainbow cookies and cupcakes - always a hit! and thanks to grandma ellie and papa for the venue, entertainment and delicious pasta salad!

Amelia had many friends from current and past attend the party, including family from oregon (lisa), San Diego (mimi and papa), and gigi and ggpa.   It was quite a celebration!

I had fun crafting all the decor - most inspired by Pinterest.  I have no shame in imitation.  The cake was by far the most fun!

The many layers of the rainbow cake... two more to go!

Crafting the button candy punch box.  Instead of a piñata - much more age appropriate!

Candy Buffet.  All the colors of the rainbow~!

The finished product- rainbow birthday cake!  wait until you see the inside!

Rainbow cookies.

Rainbow cupcakes....

Rainbow flowers! and rainbow veggies, and rainbow fruit skewers.  so many rainbows!

Very nicely done decoration. I am a budding event planner and I learnt that there are lot of DIYs that can actually give life to a party or an event. I keep noting all these things because I know these are going to be helpful. There is also an exhibition going on in an event space San Francisco and I will get some ideas from there as well.
