Weee!

I've had a helper named Diana for the past few weeks while I've been working from home.  We've had some rainy weather, but she typically takes them out for a park outing at some point during the day.  Diana sent me this text last week, and it made me laugh!  Audrey is definitely a little daredevil...

Mad Hatter Tea Party

This is our second year attending the Mad Hatter Tea Party hosted by grandma Ellie at Menlo.  They do such a great job decorating and bringing in the Alice in Wonderland vibe.  The girls had a great time with balloons, face painting eating little desserts and the candy off the centerpiece at the table.  Amelia had several Shirley Temples.   We already look forward to next year!

Visit with my sister

Sisters!  I love my little sister.  We spent several days with her and her family in early March.  I got to meet her beautiful sweet daughter Lauren, and my kiddos were able to play with their other cousins, Gray and Julia.  We all had a blast.  Miss you!  xoxo

Little Helpers

The girls helped me pack in anticipation of our family trip to Arizona.  We planned a visit with great grandpa Gene and to stay with Lindsey and her family.  Brad actually had a "work retreat" aka guys golfing weekend in northern Scottsdale so it was mostly just me and the girls.

Anyhow, the ladies were great helpers in prepping the bags and selecting the proper clothing:

Audrey making sure the bag is big enough.

One of her new favorite things-  throwing all Amelia's Fancy Nancy dolls off this little bench and sitting there with a leg swinging and a very proud expression.

Amelia modeling mommy's peep toes.

Snuggle and a Cuddle

I've been knee-deep (literally!) in paper over here working on a closing, so I tried to fit in a cat nap last  Sunday afternoon to recharge.  Guess who snuck in bed next to me and then took a nap of her own.  LOVE!  She is too cute!  I could not sleep after I found her snuggled next to me.  All I wanted to do was take in every inch of her angel face.

Visit with Fireman Chris

While on a walk with Adriana, Conor and Emily, we were near the fire station and Adriana suggested we stop by to see if there was a truck out front.  The kids are mesmerized by the firetrucks. Unfortunately the garage was closed so we just let Conor and Amelia stare at the station for a minute to see if they could see through the garage windows.

Low and behold, Fireman Chris opened up the garage and welcomed us in (okay, the kids!) for a tour of the fire truck.  Amelia was awestruck and remained quiet while Conor asked about every button, cord, tool, box.  I loved watching Conor ask the fireman about everything and it was even more darling when pretty much everything he asked about was something yellow!  He is too cute!  of course at the end after he'd asked about all the locked doors, cabinets etc on the truck, the very last one happened to contain the kids' fire hats.  Amelia and Conor left with a souvenir and some great memories.

Haircuts take two...

Both girls were in need of another trim - I still find it amazing that Audrey has had the same number of haircuts as big sister Amelia.  Both were super excited and loved the toy "surprise" at the end.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

How is it that when Brad has the girls solo he can somehow get both of them to nap at the same time (Amelia doesn't even nap any more!)... it is simply amazing.

I guess he deserved this... it was his birthday.  Happy Birthday Brad!  You're an awesome husband, father and best friend.  I love you. xo

Arepas!

I had my first arepa (Venezuelan corn cake) from a cool gourmet food truck and since then I have been trying to perfect it.  They are better and better each time, but I think the fillings are my favorite :)  And maybe the margaritas that accompanied the meal (note the LARGE bottle of Patron).

Crazy Hat Day

Love these hats! (and the girls!)

Springtime?

We have not had traditional seasons this year.  A very mild winter and spring feels like it is upon us earlier.  Because the girls received a fun play set for Christmas we were eager to get the yard ready for kiddos.  Brad made his annual trip to Lingso to get playground bark and we cleared out dead plants to spruce of the yard.  The girls loved watching all the action and the end result was worth the wait!
