Beach Weekend -thanks to Bob and Leslie!

Last weekend during the Pebble Beach Pro Am, we stayed with Ellen and Frank at Bob and Leslie's home at Pajaro Dunes.  Ellen and Frank watched Nick Watney play and our little family just enjoyed the change of scenery.  The weather was a bit overcast and rainy at times, but I still love those types of days near the beach.

Saturday morning our family drove down to Moss Landing and enjoyed a yummy brunch (with Margaritas?) at Haute Enchilada and then hit up the local farmer's market to get local artichokes for dinner to compliment fresh-off-the-boat crab!  It was an incredible dinner.  I am still reminiscing about it.

Amelia and daddy picked out the crabs - Amelia loved this! And in the back of the picture below you can see a shadow in the water - it was a sea otter that eventually came up and was within touching distance of Amelia.  It was quite a treat.  Who needs to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium?

Some sissy love in the pack n play.

The best was a morning on the beach in their jammies.  Audrey loved the freedom to crawl everywhere and to work on her walking without concern for falling!

Thanks Bob and Leslie for a great weekend away!

San Francisco Saturday

A couple of weeks ago we spent the day in San Francisco - Brad had an appointment mid day so we all made the trek up and decided to enjoy the incredible weather.  Even Vegas got to come.  While Brad was at his appointment, the girls and I took advantage of the lazy brunch offerings (including a mimosa for me!) at yummy Brixton.  Vegas found a friend and Amelia was enchanted with the little puff ball.  I think that day was a 75 degree day in early February.  Amazing.

We took a drive to our old stomping grounds in the Marina.  Vegas was treated to a few hours at Crissy Field beach leash free.

By the time we left, Amelia was wet and covered in sand.  She threw herself in this huge pit and then claimed that she needed a "bath".  Rinse and repeat.  Too bad the showers at the beach are only a little warmer than freezing.

Love this.

These girls are too much!  SO much love.

Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

Now that Audrey prefers to stand and walk, it feels like a whole new world has opened up.  She's been to the SF zoo, but her trip was either in the sling, ergo or stroller.  Not quite the same experience as being able to pet the goats and feed the llamas. Great weather was expected last week (or was that two weeks ago now?- yes, early February!) so we made the easy drive to the SF zoo.

For whatever reason, despite the fact that living in SD we were spoiled with the "World Famous" San Diego Zoo and my favorite - the Wild Animal Park, we ALWAYS have the most beautiful weather when we go to the SF zoo.  I am sure that I just jinxed it.  The area of the city should absolutely be overcast and wet and totally overrun with tourists.

But no, we get 65 degrees and sunny, with barely anyone else to share the park with - other than peacocks at our picnic lunch.  This time we discovered the vintage playground with a never-ending supply of swings and we spent half our time at the zoo on the playground.  That's the joy of having season passes - you can go to the zoo just to swing!

Beautiful drive up

Love this of Audrey

Audrey was not quite sure about the llama - I admit he does look a little goofy!

This expression says it all...

"okay goats, I don't have any more food!"

Audrey jumps into the fray

 "What are these things?"

This is hilarious - reminded me of a class picture.

Picnic!

All tuckered out!

thanks mom, best day EVER!!!
